“October is the liver cancer awareness month. For this reason, and as we did before, from the Hepatic Oncology Unit of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona we organized activities for patients, relatives, carers and people who are interested in liver cancer.

This year's activity was called "Come and learn about the laboratory facilities of the Esther Koplowitz Center", and it took place last October 15 with the aim of bringing research closer to patients and caregivers by meeting our researchers: laboratory technicians, doctors, biologists, etc., and as well as our research facilities. They could attend to the different talks given by our researchers.

About thirty patients and caregivers shared this day with us, and they had the opportunity to see the laboratory, and resolve any doubts they had about it. They could see where the research samples are processed and stored, and could learnt the sample process.

It was a fulfilling day for them and for us, because we could talk to the patients in a more relaxed atmosphere than the clinic. We're already coming up with new ideas for next year!"
