It was attended by more than 600 researchers in the field of liver cancer and offered a superb update about current status and future perspectives of this disease. Several members of the BCLC contributed to the meeting in scientific sessions and symposium. Daniela Sia was awarded because of her work in molecular profiling and her abstract "Genome wide methylation analysis and epigenetic unmasking reveals silenced tumor suppressor genes in hepatocellular carcinoma" received the best oral presentation award. Dr Josep Maria LLovet finished his successful presidential term for the last two years and was subsituted by Professor Peter Galle from Germany. 
During the same meeting Professor Masamichi Kojiro from Japan received the Nelson Fausto Award for his  major leadership and international recognition during his life long career in the field of liver cancer
